Since its founding in 1935, Roto-Rooter has become synonymous with reliable plumbing, drain cleaning, and water cleanup services across North America. Starting from humble beginnings, Roto-Rooter revolutionized plumbing solutions with its groundbreaking drain cleaning machine, quickly establishing itself as a trusted household name. In 1980, when the Blanc family sold Roto-Rooter to Chemed Corporation, the company’s headquarters relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio. Despite this transition, Roto-Rooter retained its strong legacy, continuing to manufacture its renowned drain cleaning machines, cables, blades, and other parts in West Des Moines, Iowa.

With over 100 company-owned branches, independent contractor territories, and around 400 independent franchise operations, Roto-Rooter’s reach extends across 90% of the U.S. population and into Canada. Roto-Rooter’s global footprint also includes master franchises in Indonesia/Singapore and the Philippines, ensuring that the brand’s expertise in plumbing and water restoration services is accessible to more people than ever before.
